We had an uneventful trip up to Ryan’s Rd. This road was interesting as it went on and on winding through sand and mud holes, over the rail line into the homestead. Set up camp and enjoyed the night around the fire. Thanks to those who collected wood.

Late breakfast followed by a lazy day. Tea this night was an alfresco shared meal with many delightful and different tasting flavours. Watched the very large moon appear over the trees, we didnʻt need a torch as it was so bright.

The next day we took the road up to Helena and Aurora Ranges. We drove through many bog holes but got to one that was even too challenging for Ajith, it was long and went around the corner, so we couldn’t see the other end. Turned around and went on another dry weather track. Had lunch at the base of the range and tried to get to the top but it was too rough and steep and as it was getting late opted to return home as we had to make damper for tea. The dampers that were made were a great success. These were made in camp ovens on the campfire.

We checked out Keokanie rock but no camp here. We moved on to Baladjie Rock which was a great camp with a flushing loo.

Lunch at Elachbutting Rock then onto Beringbooding Rock. From here people left at their own pace, some stayed on to extend the weekend. But …. there are always some 4WD casualties!!!

Everyone enjoyed a great weekend, thanks go to Russ and Sandy for their planning and trip leading.
